Flower bulbs for gardeners, landscapers, councils and more
Allium cepa Stuttgarter Giant
A popular gardeners favourite, this superb high cropping variety has flat bottoms and is an excellent keeping onion with multiple uses in the kitchen.
The strong flavours make this bold onion ideal for stews, casseroles, packing around roasts and frying.
Plant from late February into April with harvesting taking place during August into September.
Onion sets should be planted 5-10cm (2-4 inches) aparm in rows which are 25-30cm (10-12 inches) apart. The sets should be gently pressed into a well worked soil bed and then firmed around the bulb.
Remember to leave the tip showing above the ground.
