Narcissus Actaea Poeticus
Bright white petals and a neat yellow cup with a delicate red edging. A later flowering variety with a delightful fragrance. Grow them outdoors in borders and rockeries, or in containers on a bright windowsill indoors. Also excellent as cut flowers.
This ever popular landscaping variety is a true gem in the narcissus world and deserves pride of place.
Narcissi Actaea naturalises easily and often appears in formal beds with other daffodil species and tulips.
For impact displays plant alongside yellow trumpets in drifts or in wooded areas with crocus and bluebells.
Interesting Note: While not related Actaea racernosa commonly known as black snake root is a herbaceous perennial carrying poisonous red, black or white berries with long, erect branching racemes, carrying simple, small creamy white flowers.
