crocus vernus flower record
The beautiful deep purple flowers brighten up any garden or formal planting scheme in the depths of winter. Plant in either sun or partial shade, excellent for attracting bees, butterflies and birds.
Try underplanting in containers with daffodils and tulips. Simply use a large container with a drainage hole at the bottom, cover with decororative gravel or broken terracotta pot and add a layer of bulb fibre or soil based compost, put in daffodils cover with soil then add the tulips then cover with more soil, before finally adding the crocus and filling to within 50cm of the top of the pot, water well and watch them grow.
Large flowered crocus purple will naturalise in most garden or landscaped settings. The bold colours make it an ideal pot plant both indoors and for patios.
